Their Journey Began With Hope:

 

Nate and I have always loved kids and always dreamed of having a fairly big family. However, after being blessed by our older two daughters, we went through multiple painful miscarriages, followed by years of secondary infertility. Then, after we witnessed the beauty of adoption through our niece, Khloe, our hearts and minds were opened to adoption, and we decided to begin our own adoption journey.

 

The Challenge They Faced:

 

We knew it was going to be a roller coaster journey, but we put our trust in God to lead us, and we prayed that he'd bring us people to help us and support us through the process.  

 

When Support Made the Difference:

Legacy of Blessings was just starting out as a foundation around the time that we officially decided to begin the adoption journey, and it was so nice to have their prayers and support and encouragement during that overwhelming time. After we got started with our adoption agency, Legacy of Blessings helped us apply for an account and fundraiser matching grant with Life Song for Orphans. That led to us to raise $15,000 from a fundraiser we had and a matching grant from Lifesong. Legacy of Blessings also took up donations for us at their First Friday booth in the fall and their Dance for Adoption event in the spring. 

 

Then a few months later, we learned about the Both Hands organization. When we decided we were going to do this project to help a widow, while raising money for our adoption, the people from Legacy of Blessings all wanted to help however they could. They showed up in multiple ways to physically help us with this project, AND they also offered to give us a matching grant as well.

A Family Made Whole:

​

About one month after our big Both Hands fundraiser project, we were matched with a birth mother, and just 3 weeks later, our beautiful baby girl was born.  God had answered our prayers in so many ways. The financial help Legacy of Blessings provided throughout our journey was much appreciated, but the encouragement, guidance on getting started with the adoption processes, and emotional support throughout the journey are what meant the most to us.
